Should the foreign governments have the right to hold non-citizens (Canadian, American, British) suspected of having terrorist ties indefinitely?
Alternatively, with out the right to a lawyer, will this start a fad?
Will every business person going over seas be at risk, of being used in a tit for tat game?
Moreover, what if a foreign government just wants to make a point about its soverncy.
Or to provoke us, or to make a pointโฆwe have just set our selves up for a kicking.
This can be used against us in so many ways it is truly scary. And we cant say a dam thing to stop it.
What Embasy will you turn to then, when they detain our people on trumped up charges. (We do it right?).
The problem with this kind if thing is as we have seen over and over our enimes are very good at turning our strengths aganst us.
Like veatnam how many of us will be held indefinatly in there jails?

Should the foreign governments have the right to hold non-citizens (Canadian, American, British) suspected of having terrorist ties indefinitely? Absolutely not. No government should be allowed to imprison people indefinitely without due process. The US are making a laughing stock of themselves with Guantanamo Bay prison. I am amazed that many Canadians are willing to handover such an important matter to beauracratics. There must be due process. Durgan.
