I care but what else can be done. The general public do not have the collective will to boycott any particular chain to have any effect. If every motorist in whatever city stayed away from say Shell for say two days straight that would send a clear message that Joe public is pissed and worse organizing. The oil companies know they have Joe public over a "barrel" because we refuse to organize. We have the numbers and the power to hit them hard to the pocket book which is the only place they care about. Not enough people will join a boycott so it has no effect on them.

I agree also. Each and everyone of us grips about..complains about it yet we still drive up load up pay up and drive away and the oil company wins by gouging us. Like Snoopy said unless we "all" can organize and boycott a oil company for a few days to a week nothing will register with them.

I think that was tried a few years back , when gas hit 80./litre .....GAWD wouldn't we love that now .... out come the jerry cans .... The problem was if you lived in a town that only had that peculiar gas station ...what would you do .... also if memory serves me the strikes were on Fridays ... DUH ....most people get paid on Fridays and guess what thats groceries, gas ,and bills .... now if it was to be one a Monday or Tuesday that might work..... To many people have the additude " WHY BOTHER WHAT DIFFERENCE WILL IT MAKE ...." ....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...... and that's it in a nut shell

Every notice that these gasoline prices, which we are assured are not contrived, are generally lower on tuesdays? If the shortage was an Imperial refinery breakdown/fire howcum all the other brands instantly jumped their price?

When I started driving my rebuilt 1957 MGA sportscar in 1966 the price of an imperial gallon (5 liters approx) was all of 38 cents an imperial gallon and we thought then we were bing taken to the cleaners!! Now they wack us $1.02 a liter and tell us that its is a fair price? We do not have gas shortages! We have managed "just in time" production and delivery. A little spike you can blame on the odd refinery fire or maintennance shutdown becomes to be icing on their cake. By the way? Ever hear that Winnipeg used to have 2 oil refineries that were so obsolete that they were taken apart piece for piece and re-assembled in China so they too could refine oil into gasoline? That is where Canada's excess capacities went and like that our prices went south too with no competition in the country! Canada has become a place of raising prices to meet the competition? What ever happened to lowering prices to meet the competition? Must be an old fashioned concept!

....Well you know WHAT !!!!! it's going to have to........PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!! ........The BIG 3 are in major trouble ....... car sales are way down , because people can't afford to own one ..... The price of insurance and gas are major contributors ... .....DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW MANY JOBS THAT IS ? I couldn't even begin to wager a guess , but I know it would cripple this country ............

This is what the difference is when I bought gas BEFORE the long weekend at $1.08 . 6 last Thursday.... With today's crude oil price of $65.30 USD per barrel and the US dollar at $1.08 CAD, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in London should be 87.8ยข per litre at normal profit margins. At a price of $1.06 per litre, you are paying 18.2ยข per litre in pure excess profit. Across Canada, an extra margin of 18.2ยข per litre generates an additional profit of 18.2 million dollars per day....Now I got gas today at a $1.13 . 7 after our long weekend BUT before the American long weekend ... With today's crude oil price of $65.30 USD per barrel and the US dollar at $1.08 CAD, the price of regular unleaded gasoline in London should be 87.8ยข per litre at normal profit margins. At a price of $1.13 per litre, you are paying 25.2ยข per litre in pure excess profit. Across Canada, an extra margin of 25.2ยข per litre generates an additional profit of 25.2 million dollars per day.AND THAT'S NOT GOUGHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....In other words if the price of crude hasn't change WHY THE FRIG HAS THE PRICE OF GAS .. MONEY GRABBING ARSS-HOLES IS ALL THEY ARE ... I'm curious as to what other people are paying .. here's the link so you can calculate and post your results... www.gasgouge.ca/I hear there are some rumblings in states and they are going to do something about the high prices. Not sure what, anyone have any ideas ??
