On June 9, 2007 rock and roll phenomenon Nickelback, stunning thespian Jill Hennessey, legendary "Ghostbusters" director Ivan Reitman and "Canada's most trusted news anchor" Lloyd Robertson will be inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame.
The eight Canadians on the 2007 list -- Nickelback, Jill Hennessey, Catherine O'Hara, Ivan Reitman, Johnny Bower, Rick Hansen, Gordon Pinsent, and CTV's Lloyd Robertson -- will be honoured at a gala event hosted by comedian Eugene Levy. Robertson is the first journalist to ever be inducted into the Walk of Fame.
The Walk
A non-profit volunteer-driven organization founded in 1998, Canada's Walk of Fame celebrates Canadians who have excelled in their respective fields, from arts, sports, entertainment and technology. The goal of Canada's Walk of Fame is to ensure that their stories are woven into the fabric of our Canadian identity.
Every year Canada's Walk of Fame receives thousands of nominations recommending truly outstanding members of our nation and each year it could literally induct a fresh hundred accomplished Canadians - if space allowed!
The criteria include:
. The nominee was born in Canada or has spent their formative or creative years in Canada
. They have had a minimum of 10 years experience in their field
. They have had a national or international impact on Canada's Cultural heritage
