It seems I'm a 'macho Rambo' type because the firearms I have inherited (which hold a deep sentimental value) and have worked to earn the money for, have inspired me with a compeling desire to keep them regardless of the harrassment of government.
So, perhaps it is time to post about the 'softer' side of hunting so certain posters don't have a fit.
I was out for wild turkey opening day yesterday and have had the priveledge of viewing the tinyest and cutest sprouting flowers in God's garden. Reddish, purple trilliums are among them.
I will take a camera next time and try to post some pics.

I agree Truthy , whether you shoot anything or not , just sitting on a tree stump you get plenty of time to think. The majestic trees that reach for the sunlight a hundred feet above you . The colorful fungi's that feed off of rotting decay . The flowers , some are very colorful , some just weird . The red squirrels and chipmunks that chatter and chirp at you. The woodpeckers making their distinct sounds . The only thing that takes away that piece of heaven are the damm bugs !!!!

I find these experiences you mention are part of the spirituality of hunting. The food chain has a sacred element to it.

Everything has a purpose and is part of the food chain ... Something needs something else in order to survive . even man who is supposedly at the top of the chain ... Call it the circle of life .. cause even a natural death ,something feeds on you . Do people point fingers at hunters because they hunt with guns/bows or for the mere sake that they hunt

Actually my take is these sheeple associate this with this invalid new religion/faith.......which involves reducing the earth's population to about 800,000 destroying all the dams, "releasing the rivers" and allowing the planet to largely return to it's "natural state" (primeval forest) complete with all the critters. In the short term it is primarilly an aversion to guns and blood...... Foreign aid-----wealth transfer from the poor of rich countries to the rich of poor countries.
