While the new proposed immigration laws, may not be exactly creating what could be called “Guest Workers” there seems to be a leaning in the direction of being more selective in the choice of people being allowed to immigrate. With the need for more skilled workers, the shift is to selecting more skilled people for immigration.
This is in many ways could be a good thing for Canada’s native population, in the sense that there have always been more white people in the emigration mix.
Irish, English, Scotch, French and so on. This was changing slightly with a trend toward more Asian people for a short time.
But now with new proposed immigration changes, Canada hopes to be more selective in the people that it allows in to the country.
This should give a much needed boost to the native population in Canada; the reason for thinking this, is, Canadians have not been reproducing.
This could have been countered as it was in the past by bringing in more immigrants.
Which have been diverse enough to be fractured into there own cultural groups never really uniting.
Were as the native population has always been united in there suffering, at the hands of those that claim to be “Real Canadians”.
More skilled immigrants will mean that they will be less inclined to take a back seat, as they will be holding all the cards, and ultimately “Canadians” should logically end up working for these “skilled immigrants”.
Since the Canadian native population is the only population in Canada that appears to be increasing in numbers, then all this combined, should help tip the scales in favor of the native population.
Yes it is possible there will be more white people, Canada seems to have historically leaned more toward white immigrants,Irish, English, Scotch, French, Russian and so on.
But the new ones coming in, will be in the drivers seat, as far as calling the shots is concerned, taking a back seat to no one.
A curious thought would be that possibility because of these skills, the new immigrants may be less likely to display the loyalty that comes from desperation, and lack of other options.
No matter what way it turns out, I think it is all good, immigration of any kind is good, Native population increase is good, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
