.... with all the talk now about bailing out the auto manufacturing sector or not to , I was wondering what are the views on here ?
.... personally , I say let them go under , get rid of the pricey wages, pensions and unions . Bring back the affordable cars/trucks so the lower class can afford them . .... at a U.S. meeting yesterday with the big 3 , a senator ask them whether they flew commercial or took there private jets ,,, guess what they all flew private ... duh , some savings eh how can we give a bail-out if the executives won't give up there perks or take a decrease in their wage and perks ....

The top executive salaries, bonuses, pensions, stock options are obscene but as a percentage are not such a big factor-----but ARE bad press..... Union wages have been absolutely ridiculous..... At one point recently Ford was spending more on health care for it's work force than on steel.... And yet these automotive unions (UAW---CAW) refuse to take wage cuts to preserve the industry.....

The union may have priced themselves out of business.

Only if they offer Canadians that rocket powered jet aircraft type ejection seat should also part of the auto bail out for our security?
