Government to curb Parliamentary perks .... ya right !! Cancellation of a planned three per cent or $4,600 pay hike for MPs who already earn $155,400 .... that's a startRestricting the use of government challenger jets .... about timeEnding all unnecessary travel and entertainment ... should be all !! they can pay for there own like everyone elseCutting all business-class travel for cabinet ministers and top civil servants ... ever heard of tele-conferencing ... duh !!!It's also believed that Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will order spending cuts at Crown corporations and other federal agencies. Insiders say the financial belt-tightening could save Canada tens of millions of dollars each year The prime minister said during the election that there would not be a recession, but today he admits that there will be a recession -- and that the recession is right at our door," Duceppe said in French. "Can the minister explain what was so urgent to call an election because of the economic crisis, whereas now it's not so urgent to take action to deal with the impacts of this crisis?" Flaherty said "no one in the world was predicting the kind of economic downturn, and the severity and depth of the economic downturn that we've experienced in the last 12 weeks.' ..... how in such a short time has the world economy gone down the crapper .....news.sympatico.msn.ctv.ca/abc/home/contentposting.aspx?isfa=1&feedname=CTV-TOPSTORIES_V3&showbyline=True&newsitemid=CTVNews%2f20081125%2fdeficit_report_081125

.... the way I see it is , if the boss are willing to get off their arss's and come to work side by side with the common man that shows that their willing to do anything to keep their business afloat .... You cannot ask someone to do , give up something , if you are not going to do it yourself ... You gain respect and trust from your co-workers ,and that goes a long way .. They'll be more patient , willing and understanding ... ... I see this as no different ... cuts/perks must start at the top also ...after all... it's the little guy who labors to make the product , buys the products , pays taxes on this products , which interns creates more demand for that product .... keeping in mind if it is reasonably priced ....
... just my view ....

.... that's what I said , but I never thought of the " jap-crap " . .. I hope with the biggest shopping season upon us , I trust consumer's will read the labels and try to buy Canadian made. To the manufactures I beg , be proud and slap on that huge " Made in Canada " label .... you'll be surprised what might happen ..
Craft shows / markets are great places to start . Not only do you support your community , but often the ideas are 1 of a kind , can be customized , and inexpensive ...
...I have a tradition in my home that at least one gift has to be homemade . You'll be surprised what gets unwrapped .

The bizarre thing about this current situation is that the NINJA mortgages were a result the Clinton/Gore fiddling with the regulations.....on the principle that everyone should be able to own their own house. However the lenders were not that silly.....but then THE GREAT ONE in his incarnation as a "community organizer" for ACORN sued CITIBANK to extend NINJA mortgages and the game was on.
During the election the Dems/Obama campaign/MSM blamed Bush et al for this although Bush's attempts to rein this in were frustrated/blocked by the Dem majority in Congress.
Every country gets the government it deserves.....

The definition of a Recession?
Answer - When your government and its corporate buddies have "MADOFF" (shades of New York's 50 billion dollar rip off artist) with all your disposable income in the Canadian national "ponzi" scheme it has always been! LOL! ;D
Now, if you don't believe that? Take the denfinition of what a Ponzi scheme is and then put it against the legislation of what in Canada is called the GST (Gouge and Screw Tax) and please tell me that somehow they are different? ;D
Who is goning to be the first one to step up to the plate and argue otherwise?
