I read from Canada's various medias:
Thousands of people, demanded that Canada not take sides in the ongoing Middle East conflict in pro-Palestinian demonstrations across the country (Canada) Saturday.
Clearly these people brought all their hatreds and prejudices to Canada with its multicultural mosiac as hyphenated Canadians.
Estimated about 2,000 protesters were packed outside the Israeli Consulate in Toronto calling for an end to Israeli attacks in Gaza.
What about the thousands of rockets shot at Israel for all those years from Gaza with what proportional Israeli response?
Many of the protesters were children who carried graphic signs depicting some of the youngest victims of the violence in Gaza. One little girl held a baby doll wrapped in a white sheet, stained with fake blood.
So what adults took their little children and indoctinated them on hatreds only adults know how to treach? This is a prime example of adults using their children as proxies for their own problems as adults.
She was the daughter of Isser Baker, whose entire family was with him at the protest. He said he has told his children what is going on.
Question is were the children of Isser Baker old enough to be informed eough to understand the gravity of what has been going on? I doubt it.
"They understand exactly what is happening (in Gaza). Children are without food, without medicine, without school."
What about the thousands of rockets fired upon dialy against the same innocents in Israel by those in Gaza? Did Isser Baker explain that to his children too?
Amir Ghorvei may only be 10 years old, but it wasn't his first protest. The boy from Mississauga, Ont., attended with his mother, but he knew exactly why he had come. "I think that the war on Gaza should stop," he said. "Palestinians are getting killed every day and Harper doesn't want to do a thing about it."
How does anyone think a 10 year old could be mature enough to say any of that without some adult close to him programming his thinking with one side only not showing?
The crowd was predominantly made up of Palestinian protesters, although a small contingent of Jewish supporters were also in the crowd, separated from the others by a police barricade. Although the protest was peaceful, the mood was still tense and an Israeli flag was burned by some protesters.
The burning of any country's flag from outside of Canada is some how peacefull?
Much of the protesters' criticism was launched toward the federal government as they spoke out against what they considered to be unabashed support of Israel. "John Baird was quoted as saying the resisters in Palestine are cowards," said Ali Mallah of the Canadian Arab Federation. "Well I have news for you John Baird and Stephen Harper, the only coward we know is Stephen Harper and his government." Mallah's comments were met with cheers and chants of "shame on you."
This is another representative of the federal government's policy of multiculturalsim aka hyphenated Canadians speaking again about problems and relationships they brought to Canada?
Sentiments were much the same in Ottawa, where a gathering of 1,500 people protested peacefully on Parliament Hill. "You have sadly moved Canada away from our tradition of being in the forefront of defenders of international law and human rights," said Samah Sabawi, reading from an open letter to the prime minister. "We need for you to acknowledge the fact that you represent all Canadians - all Canadians, Mr. Prime Minister - including Arab Canadians, including Palestinian Canadians.
The other hypenated Canadians don't count other than the Palestinian and Arab hyphenated Canadians though happen to outnumber them by 90% to their 10% are not to be counted by Arab and Palestinians living in Canada?
Protesters also heard from a woman via cellphone in Gaza, identified only as Eva. She described in detail the "carnage" she said she's witnessed against defenceless civilians. She accused Israel of deploying "illegal chemical weapons," specifically white phosphorus. In Montreal, more than 1,000 vocal demonstrators fought off the sting of -15 C weather to march through city. Hundreds waved placards, some of which read: "End the siege in Gaza now!" and "Save Gaza, stop the massacre." "It's a real war (that's) happening over there," said protester Mohammed Salhi, 21. Salhi, who says he has many friends in Palestine, said the Canadian government must stand up with other countries and demand that the fighting stop. His little brother Ahmed, 13, said the governments must act quickly. "Civilians are dying," he said. "We are here to support them." Hundreds of people gathered in the pouring rain in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery for a protest that spilled onto a downtown street and stopped traffic. Demonstrators chanted "Free Gaza" as speakers condemned Israel.
Murray Martin, 45, who stood in the rain to watch the rally, accused Israel of war crimes. "I don't really think of it as a response, as more of an invasion," Martin said. "Even if you give Israel the benefit of the doubt, that Hamas did start this, the attack is extremely disproportionate." He said the Canadian government needs to end its silence and call for Israel to stop.
"I think it's shameful - I'm ashamed to be Canadian," he said.
Mr. Martin? Just what has proportion have anything to do with the conflict. Israel for years has been told to restrain itself yet thousands of rockets have been rained down on them over the years where they were urged to turn the other cheeck and did so just when is enough, enough as how many thousand rockets fired from Gaza plus 1??? I can only wonder how many Victoria Day roman candles could be fired at him before he retaliated in terms of from feet away and here the Palestinians have been raining rockets down on Israel that penetrate some 25 miles deep to strike at ordinary people? Just what is proportion any more?
Other demonstrations were also scheduled across the country, including events in Halifax, Fredericton, Calgary and Victoria. Similar protests also drew sizable crowds last weekend, including thousands in Montreal.
I don't know about the rest of you but my family came here not be hyphenated Canadians nor did we bring our language, culture or religion or old scores to settle here to Canada to shove down the throats of other Canadians who came here with similar objectives as ours. It is time that the government of Canada outlaw these government policies of multiculturalism and stop referring to Canadians as "hyphenated Canadians", it has all become completely sickening. Instead the Government of Canada should legislate and end to hyphenated Canadians as well as legislating an end to the protection of minorities that make up hyphenated Canadians and legislate that in Canada there shall only be a secular state known as Canadians and if people from elsewhere do not like it here and do not like being Canadians within a Canadian culture then it is high time they pack thier bags and take their prejudices, religions and problems and return to the lands they came from. Canadians of a secular Canadian anti-hyphensated culture would appreciate that immensely and that means 90% of us already.
With the next protests the government of Canada should scoup up all these protestors both pro, con Arab, Jew and otherwise and quickly dispatch them to where their origins came from after their Canadian citizenships of landed immigrant statuses stripped. With that done just maybe people will finally think how fortunate they are being in Canada and will finally abandone this hyphenation multiculturalism crap that only serves to divide the real Canadians, the ones who do not see themselves as hyphenated and completely secular.
Its time for real Canadians to step up and be heard and the hyphenated ones to go to what is their own person hell, religious or otherwise leaving the rest of us alone to be one thing and one thing only, Canadians!
