xrl.us/u3eqSince the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the animating doctrine behind US foreign policy has been neoconservatism. It has three key tenets. One is that America has a profound duty to spread democracy around the world; another is that it should not hesitate to use force to do so if necessary; and third is that it must be prepared to go it alone. Go to Australia to find out what is happening in the world. Some straight talk. xrl.us/u3eqDurgan.

To the not to politically correct Aussies! Bravo! Being politically correct all the time brought about the fall of Rome and because Australia has more of it below the equator than above, falling off can be easier too!

Australia is lucky! If it screws up on foreign policy it can always blame it happens on being from down under! In any case they can always vacate the continent and give it back to the aboriginies and then blame it all on them before they leave!

Politics is described as the art of the possible.
Australia's newly minted labour government upset the lefty camp bigtime by rejecting the mainstream KYOTO movement at Bali and then upped the ante by giving afghanistan a clear siganl to see the mission through and not withdraw.
Perhaps these politicians realized that despite their landslide victory their support was really very shallow.
