SAM KATZ 2009 MESSAGE SHOWS A TIRED WPG MAYOR.....

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA - Mayor Sam Katz' 2009 State of the City message shows a figurehead, do nothing, no enthusiasm, non visionary, non corrective, non dynamic anti-citizen pro right wing business as usual without regard to what ever happens style of mayoralty leadership that is destined for the predecessors scrapheap of previous mayors who really could not measure up to the late Stephen Juba who years ago beyond most people's memories at the very least tried very hard and was the "people's mayor" for many years because he did care.
What Katz did not address was the greatest of all issues and that is all the issues that affect the taxpaying citizens disposable income left after the Federal government and Provicial governments take their shares from first before the left overs are left to pay Winnipeg Property Taxes for basic services and User Fees for other services not covered by direct property taxation. With an 11 year tax freeze there is a monstrous and complex tax scandal and fraud ready to be uncovered. Some statements already coming out via the Katz administration are seeing this identified for them monstrous problem that for them is going to be their image, positional and career killers where those ready and waiting are going to want to take over and give the taxpayes of this city their due in wanting everything uncovered and the tax system fairly reformed so no taxpayer gets shafted and the flight of millions is reined in from this city bleeding to death feeding special interests like blook sucking ticks and leeches as is presently going on.
What Mayor Katz did not address was the major corruption and crime in this city found within the Winnipeg Police Service and the Elites of this city where multi-million dollar white collar crime is not by admitance even being addressed by the police service because they do not have the resources so they say to do that job! No one is saying yet that when you address white collar crime that affects city wealth as a whole in terms of its residents being better off the pattern of crime shifts as well to reflect lesser crime in the lesser well off as wealth distribution and how it got there was served correction shifting the need for police resources from where crime is lessened to where it is needed and presently white collar crime is not addressed. White collar crime is what makes Winnipeg poor because it is cheap and a lot of that cheap is downright criminal.
There will be a Winnipeg Renewal but it sure won't be with the business as usual Sam Katz or the Sam Katz types and must be done with new Reformers. Reformers who should be elected who can not have a special interests price tags on their foreheads to get elected. I have never carried a price tag on mine and will never carry one so the reformed minded are really going to have to be of like mind no different than I am and others are or simply be publicly exposed and not elected. Some of the present city council is already seeing things that way already. You can see these by the personal attacks Mayor Katz makes against them on council on public issues. The job of true reform needs to be made a complete with a true populist reformer mayor, not just one spun by the media like the Winnipeg Free Press or so-called AM superstation CJOB as having one when one does not even exist but they would have you believe does.
