Well at the ripe old age of 91 my Father passed on last night the 29th of July. World War two vet for 7 years, civil servant for 35 years, husband and Father for 55 years+ and a tough old farm boy from Russell Ontario Canada. He never made friends easy but if you got in you were in. To my knowledge he never asked another living soul for help he was always Pop the Rock. Since Mom passed in 2001 the last 8 years have not been easy. This man of 5' 11" (I'm 5'8") the Rock slowly sliding to perhaps 5"4" or something like that. As I said he was always a hands on guy but after his stroke in 2001 he could not do many of the things you and I take for granted like just signing your name. The stroke never robbed him of his speech or his ability to walk just a very pronounced twitch in his right arm. They both must have trusted me (the younger) as in 2000 they gave me POA on everything plus something you all should know to avoid probate and lawyers. You should be joint on their deed and all bank accounts your parents have....doing this now will ensure an easy transition after the grieving.

He was a miserable old fart the last four years and I guess he missed his partner but why did he dump on me all the time. There are old people out there who have no one to come around to be with them or take them out. I am sure if I offered to drive many would have jumped at the chance to get out. Just because I am his son does not give him the right to dump on me all the time but he didn't see it that way so the last year or so was very rough. Even with all that I still miss him.

My dad expired back in 1984......in his own bed in my house...and I carried him out. It is not easy living with seniors----I recall one day he hung the phone up over my head----he somehow took offence to the half of the conversation he Thought he was hearing..... Oh well, most days the dog liked him....

Dear old Pop it would seem your son is a computer hacker as I have been accused and found guilty yet there is no evidence just the rantings of a pubescent kid. The court of public opinion has found me guilty on his word only and I am not allowed to defend myself as if it would do any good as the verdict is in. Young kid one old person zero.
