I recently heard of a thing called the heartland theory, and i am not to sure i understand it correctly.
Is it the reason America still fears Russia, and is it the reason America is so supportive of the Jewish, people. The Jewish people live in the Rimland and if i have it right, it would be very important to America to have a stake in any country in this area. As a way to counter the heartland theory. That is also the reasons the Americans give so much money and support to Israel. If the heartland made any move the Americans would use Israel to strike back, or at least slow them, as it is so close to the heartland, by having friends in the Rimland, you counter the heartland theory put forward by some guy called Mc kinnon (i think i got his name correct). Do i have this correct? Does this all sound correct?

like most people the whole middle east thing, is confusing, but it seems important to try to understand what i see on tv. You are of course correct the jewish people were not mentioned, but as the are in the area and since they have so much world importance and since the U S is so supportive of them. I simple wanted to find a better answer than the one my teacher give me for the AMerican intrest in the area. which was, perhaps it is becouse of the big jewish populations in america, and there political and financial importance.

Ah therin lies your problem.....
Heeding the counsel of your teacher on politics and world affairs is as wise as taking advise from a chiropracter on repairing your auto.
