I'm noticing a cornucopia of butterflies lately. Does anybody on the forum have knowledge of the various species?

I'm noticing a cornucopia of butterflies lately. Does anybody on the forum have knowledge of the various species? My Son loves them too!! Totally unbelievable !!! Again Truthy why not do what the rest of the techieworld does and do a GOOGLE search. If it were me starting a thread and did not want to look like a total fool I wold have identified the species of Butterflies in my garden then asked other posters if they had any other types they would like to share. Your problem is as the control freak moderator you want others to do the work for you. Where did I ask anyone to do the work for me?? Comprendre Anglais?? |

...the only butterfly I know to see is the Monarch Butterfly . At night though by the backdoor there are some pretty big moths . Some have a wing-span of 3 inches , their huge flying around the light ... gives a new meaning to the word " duck" ;D  |

I believe that's a lunar moth. My wife and I saw our cat hunt one by the porch door one night. The cat did a rather impressive dance on her hind legs while swatting at it.

.... a Lunar Moth , sounds interesting , I'll have to find a pic and see if it is the one ... all I know it's big and I feel like I should don head gear ( helment) before I go outside ..lol lol
... It's neat when you go outside in the morning before the sun hits the wall of the house and you have many species still clinging to the brick ... some are very pretty ...
... and yes my cats love to leap and try to grab them ... thank gawd the june bugs are done , got tired of hearing * crunch * * crunch * as the cats .... ate them !!! YUK ~
