Do you want Quebec to seperate from Canada?

All my life all I have ever heard from you people is give us this and give us that because we are distinct we are so special over the rest of Canadian scum. Stop rubbing that distinct crap in the rest of Canada's face and you might gain some respect. My dislike for the french is the result of many many years of hearing all of the whining. You are either part of this Great Country or not....no middle of the road. Stand up and say I am Canadian and leave that I am french Canadian bunk at the door.

I for one are also fed-up ! I get really tried hearing it all the time . The last time they had a referendum vote coming up , many big business's pulled out of Quebec and moved to other provinces or the states along with a chunk of the population that contained English and French .. What makes them more distinct over lets say Newfoundlanders , they have their own culture and language or the Eskimos ,they are surely unique in language and culture .. So grow up Quebec Quibblers and quit the whining while some of us still want you ... and besides if want to separate where will you go . Its not like you can take Quebec and pack it up and move.. IT BELONGS TO CANADA AND ITS STAYING ....KA-PEESH !!!!!!!!!

The separatists will hold as many referendums as they need to finally get their 51%. Should they ever get that 51% and the people a year later want another referendum to try and head back to Canada the separatists will never let it happen. With them its a one way street.

the province is filled with natural resources , that all of Canada benefits from , their tourism industry generates millions , the historical buildings and quaint little towns are picturesque , and O yes even their language ... I just wish they were not so arrogant and didn't spit when they speak...

I have not dealt any Francophone yet in Canada that has not been some kind of self interested, whinning, egotistical political snook. They would sell anyone out at the drop of a hat but turn around and take anyone to the cleaners the minute there is something free to be had at some one else's expense. I learned a long time ago that there is Canada and there is Quebec and there is a solitude there unresolved since the Plains of Abraham where France lost Canada to the British. Problem for Quecbec is that they know they can only as a language and culture survive in the molycoddling framework called Canada. If they were to leave Canada or the rest of Canada finally got fed up and kicked them out Quebec would disappear like the rings of a stone dropped in the water with only seconds of prescence left before the rest of the world savaged it economically starting with the USA that would not put up with anything that the rest of Canada does now or did before Quebec left of got kicked out.

I am all for the USA taking over Canada anyway. I have no love for the family compact systems of rule Upper and Lower Canada foisted / saddled the rest of Canada with. The further west you go, the stronger you find that affinity south as opposed to the east where many of us out west here would sooner see the east freeze in the dark with what the history has been in this anomoly called Canada. ;D

Ahhhhhh I see proudtobeadp, I went on a Katimavic Exchange in 1983 and found out just where Eastern Maritime Canadians stood about Quebec, I also like you got my belly full of the Quebecers, but I also met some Western Canadians there in London, Ontario......at the Katimavic Exchange place were one group of us was staying, 16 people in an old farm house. It is amazing that I had spent 3 months with all of them and how Central Lower Canadians and Western Canadians bent over backwards to the Quebecers of the Cities whom could sweettalk them so well in English, it was these cultured English Speaking Seperatists that are the real threat to Canada as a whole.

I would say that Charles Degualt is a live and well in Quebec, why do you think that our dear Prime Minister Stephen Harper is trying to get votes in Quebec if it were not important for him to do so?

Now in the Maritimes there is a tiff between Rodney MacDonald about the Natural Gass Offshore, do you not think that Nova Scotia deserves the same consideration that Newfoundland does when it comes to getting it's fair share? You in the west had to solve that problem some years back, for a long time you and we were "HAVENOT PROVINCES" with a tough situation, we recently became a haveprovince but unfortunately there is a lot of poor people like me that are not getting the "bucks" and employment we deserve probably never will. You Western Canadians in a bind now needing the Easterners down here and coaxing them to come West, is that fair now........you steal the Easterners with money for jobs but the problem is distance to you? Ahhhhhh and the rest of the world is doing the same thing, especially in Europe and Australia, nurses, doctors, professionals etc......at one time those people stayed were they were because the money was very good and they loved their jobs but money knows no boundaries.

I think I deserve a quite alot that you seem to take for granted; I think I need a job I can work at that I do not need to speak French or anyother "mother tongue" where I can get paid a decent wage and work right in my own province and not have to move somewhere else. I need to be taken fairly, have the same rights as the "uppercrusters" that have used the system of employment and business-government to advance to "specialized jobs". Unfortunately in Nova Scotia it has become those that are the political-governmental and private industry "intheknow peoples" that have got the jobs and the other people that know them personally that have gotten them the plum jobs everywhere.

Unfortunately, for me I have no one I know that can get me "inthedoor" nor do I have any money to bribe the other people that can get me "inthedoor". That is the way the world works here in Nova Scotia............if you do not have Tory or NDP influence the way the election had ended up, you cannot get work.

Go read your history book. Canada was established by English and French speaking people. Not blacks, East Indians, and Not any other group and particularly not those who call themselves "First Nations " peoples ( these people like all Canadians are nothing more than descendants of another culture which in this case are the peoples of North Asia)...

Just plain European people who speak English and French.

Since then of course we have welcomed many more cultures but the descendants of French and English Speaking people have a RIGHT to expect SPECIAL consideration as it is us and our descendants that have made this country what it is,,,, a place where economic refugees can come and make a new life.

The French do their part by making lots of noise. The English on the other hand do not make enough noise because if we toot our White Anglo horn In places like Toronto or Mississauga we are branded as Racists.

Stay indoors. It is safer these days. 20 major artery road over passes were thoroughly studied/examined the structures and 13 are deemed inappropriate and not safe.

Right !! NO ONE is Entitled to a job.

The bottom line is simple,,,,

If you live in a "Have not" then you either resign yourself to bleak job opportunities or move. I know it is not very nice to face the prospects of moving from your homeland but that is the reality.

The only other solution is to PRESSURE the government to develop some form of industry. And I mean PRESSURE !!

Get a group together and continually hit on ALL levels of government.

But those who are going to pressure have to have some idea of what can be done. That means there have to be some forward thinkers in the group who can advise the Government on what could be done.

Remember elected officials are usually not very bright.. They are only in the job for the contacts they can make for later on in their life.. Because of this you MUST make them do their jobs.

If a person just sits back and says they "Deserve" a job they are wrong.


My observation however is that too few people are willing to FIGHT for a better life because they are just to flicking lazy.

I'm afraid the best way they can encourage industrial development is to stay out of industry. Governments create bureaucracy more than industry.
