I recall back in the late 70's this debate was raging on the london On talk radio. A Canadian Forces officer called in and declared that in his view that handguns were totally inaccurate and for that reason alone should be banned. He pronounced that his capacity as a Canadian Army officer was proof positive of his knowledge and expertise.
The Crumlin Gun Club invited him over to their pistol range, with media present. This SOS (Service Of Supply desk jockey--Central ordinance Corps) proceeded to prove the inaccuracy of every handgun on site---in most cases not even connecting with the paper. The media ate it up. Then the owners of these firearms proceeded to shoot out the black of each target......
This leftist idiot apparently couldn't hit the south end of a cow with a scoopshovel filled with rice.....or couldn't hit the braodside of a barn---standing inside. He later resigned and ran as a LIBRANO federal candidate.........
There was little in the media about this fool's embarrassment.
BTW I shoot AA trap.

That's probably true. I prefer trap and skeet as well.' I must say though, to argue about my handgun skills would be a little "redneck, Rambo macho" wouldn't it? Now you are talking. Trap and skeet are fun and require skill. On top of that some crue ships allow you to indulge in your spot off the back of the boat which is fun. Best of all nothing gets killed. I have nothing against hunting as a sport but just does not appeal to me. Trap and skeet rock!!! Long range rifle coupled with reloading ammo are a great study in the physics of the ballistic arts. Hunting, although refered to as a "sport" is far more. It represents man's place in the food chain and his relationship with nature and God. It is spiritual and cultural. I hunt partly because I like hunting and partly because the great heritage of this Nation needs those who will preserve it. It pisses off Urban veggie libs too!!!!!!

Funny thing about shooters.
I have noticed that the pistol shooters will mostly shoot trap.
The rifle shooters will rarely shoot pistol or trap......
The black powder guys spend as much time throwing tomohawks and knives, wearing buckskin, or are out in the trees trying to cook something over an open fire----funny bunch.
Rifle shooters "hand load". Use case-trimmers and use powder scales.
Pistol and trap shooters "reload". Have powder measures....
