I am at a loss to understand all the school shootings that are happening in the news. Why? ? When I was at school the teacherโs literally beat the living crap out of you every chance they had, and as far as your parents were concerned, they were the law and were not to be questioned. But no body went and shot up the schools. Now Adays School is a blessing, I literally cried when I left school. It was the most respectful place I had ever seen and the teachers were so caring and I felt they were truly concerned for me. Are kids so spoiled they donโt realize what they have? Were they better of when the teachers enforced the law with an iron fist? Did they bond better as a group having the teacher as a common foe? Like in the army when the sergeant was everyoneโs favorite prick not a very nice person, trying the group together, if nothing else with there hatred and fear of him. What are these people thinking? Of all places why why why would anyone what to attack a school now adays, holy Christ it is probably the best thing many of them will ever experience. I am at a total loss, and for me that is unusual. And then I read that the schools were talking of banning cell phones!!!!!!!! Wake up people, in most of the shootings, this was the only way the students had of knowing anything was happening!! So what if one or two use them to cheat on an examโฆโฆwho cares, if it comes to a choise between them getting a text message warning them of something happening. So they can run for there lives, or some one cheating. Then let them have there phones! I am at a total loss, how are why, anyone could do this is a mystery to me.

Did I read your original post?
Well duhhhh.Yea I did.
You believe in teac hers beating the crap out of students at every opportunity. You believe it is OK for students to cheat.
Yea I read it.
This latest shooing in the most violent country on earth was completly the PIGS fault
After the first two killings, they didnt even bother to inform the school what had happened, giving people an opportunity to stay indoors or whatever, then they allow the gunman to return to the scene of the crime to kill another 30 people
Pig heads should roll over this

But whatever, it appears you have no problem that due to cop incompetence a further 30 people were murdered

It is very well known already that after the original killings, the cops did not inform the rest of the students and staff at the school what had happened. And that they had no idea where the killer was If they had of done so I think, I just maybe think, some people( ALL?) would have not put themselves in harms way for when the killer then returned
So what was the BS broadcast, as I didnt see or watch CNN at all? In fact never

Once again something happens and the usual suspects rise to the occasion to push their agenda. Once again much like the Dawson/Kimver Gil incident the warning signs were present but ignored. A few years back a school shooting, in Pennsylvania, was arrested by the owner of an adjacent variety store who responded with his shotgun and disarmed the whacho with no further shots fired. He was rewarded by being charged with having a firearm within 500 feet of a school (federal statute inspired by Columbine.) Japan has the strictest Firearms Laws in the World with no private firearms ownership but the Mayor of Hiroshima was today assassinated, by being shot in the back twice, in public. Sadly these things will occur----and it is predicted more will shortly---copy-cat, power of suggestion. The presence of unarmed, vulnerable, unarmed potential victims invites this. Ironically, when I attended high-school in the fifties, a cadet corps was at our school complete with a school-board provided rifle range. All the students had to qualify on the range----and nobody brought a gun to school and no-one was shot. The cadets have been discontinued because the Bolsheviks decided were politically incorrect. The rifle ranges were shut down as they were considered to constitute a public safety issue. Those cadet corps which still exist are limited to air rifles......and now we have school shootings and bomb threats.

o.k. Sas , on that note just mentioned about spare the rod spoil the child .. one could also say that kids back then and in my time there was a order of respect. First it started with parents , grandparents ,relatives etc. a child learned to obey and keep a civil tongue or there was hell to pay.. you just did not do that , period !! Second you respected your teachers , or there was consciouses like the strap ,or sat in front of the class for all to see..Third you respected any authority figure like a policeman ....
...now days kids mouth off to anybody about anything with no repercussions , its like every one is scared of them, for fear they will run to children's aid... You know what , let them run and they will find out, there are rules there , and then where will they go... There SPOILED ROTTEN WHINNY BRATS with way to many resources at their fingertips and value nothing !!!!!

So what? 2 People died in that "SO WHAT" shooting
You just had 2 people murdered on the campus. They had no idea where the killer was. You think it would be a hard thing to inform 26000 students to stay indoors?
Maybe you think they would have to go door to door, individual to individual?
No kidding they know. And they are not denying they should have informed the school there was a killer at loose that they had no idea where he was
Bottom line here also is, ( as you touch on ) the United States of Violence who love to make sure as many people have weapons is responsible. This person who had been showing warning signs of very violent behaviour for a long time should have been in treatment, in a hospital maybe, not free to walk in a store, lay some money down and walk out with guns, no questions asked

Once again the root cause is avoided by zealots bent on a new left/new world order agenda. Firearms are inanimate objects, harmless without a human operator. Calls for checks, prohibitions etc are just useless against this sort of tragedy. Japan, the firearms free paradise,(private firearms ownership prohibited) has a very high murder/suicide rate and yet 20% is firearms related. Yesterday the Mayor of Hiroshima was murdered in public by a firearms weilding "gangster". Japan stopped publishing it's murder violent crime stats in 1998......to conceal it's extent. The problem with violent crime is not weapons but violent people. Recall the hockey player recently murdered by a brick-wielding homeless man.

Japan stopped publishing it's murder violent crime stats in 1998......to conceal it's extent. Any attempt to quote stats is patently dishonest directly or indirectly. Relying on stats from assumed reliable sources is not possible because there simply are no stats to quote. Quot-ting any stat relating to Japanese crime/deaths is a lie---yours or somebody Else's. This is reminiscent, of Allan Rock quotting non existant statistics in the House to promote C68. At that point separate categories were not compiled. Indeed, it was limited to murders/wrongful deaths. Getting killed in a hit and run, getting pushed off a balcony, stabbed, strangled or shoot was not separate. The media trumpeted Rock's early stats as gospel but was silent as to the real situation revealed after much delay and deliberate stalling. serious scholarly research

What I call silly is slavishly mouthing silly slogans produced by the new left. You didn't read Gary Mauser's research did you? Your statements about first world countrys and their crime rates was enlightening about the depth of your ignorance. Your earlier faux pas of quoting Japanese stats which have not been published for a decade or so is further evidence. Pulling stuff out the air only works with the uninformed. The Sarah Brady Foundation and Gun Control Inc both have budgets which are multiples of the NRA budget. This allows them to produce all sorts of propaganda represented as serious research.

Actually quite a bit over the years especially dealing with their security type. Living ina country may make you very familliar with a particular bar but usually little else. Japanese media do not report any crime stories other than sensationalizing reports of US violence..........I personally witnessed some shootups between yakusa and the Jap Police but nothing made the papers. Japanese manners are a mere facade---they are ruder than the french....especially to each other. You didn't read the link did you? Bakka.......

Clever real clever....you question the validity of data from a published peer revued study because it contradicts your perception of reality and then post an OPED piece from some media-bot quoting Sarah Brady Foundation propaganda. And then spew your dillusions.......... Sarah Brady foundation commisioned a guy out of Emery university to do a study and he compared two identical west coast port cities. The only difference between these alleged identical cities was one was in the US and the other in Canada. He concluded that Vancouver was so safe because of Canadian Gun laws and that Seattle was so dangerous because of a lack of Gun Laws. This was not peer-revued. Two competant researchers were commisioned to peer revue this "study". First the Emery guy did not publish his data and when requested he refused. Homocide rates in Vancouver are much higher than Seattle. Anyone who has visited both cities would attest that these cities are not identical in the least. Who drives the taxi's in Vancouver? Who drives the taxi's in Seattle? Seattle taxi drivers do not leave blood on the sidewalk outside their temples. This study is referred to early and late by our SOW Wendy Cukier as gospel. It is obviously not a "study" but a dishonest, unfounded, opinion piece by a politically bent academic. As far as England and Australia they both have the same problem....more violence which the authorities attempt to blame on other factors to support the unsupportable. When you outlaw firarms only the outlaws have firearms. Behave yourself.

Just because these statitics do not jive with the BS the gun-grabbers spew? Remember you quoted Japanese crime statistics from somewhere which are not only wrong but ficticious because there are NO PUBLISHED CRIME STATISTCS FOR JAPANESE CRIME FIREARMS OR OTHERWISE and haven't been published for over a decade. He made a valid point. Having a firearms within 500 ft of a school is a federal offence in the US. That law worked good didn'y it? One armed individual could likely have stopped this crazie early on. I'm sure the Star went on a rant about how ---------this guy was and then filled your head with handwringer nonsense about guncontrol. Good gun-control means using both hands.... the weaver stance. The one factor about the US that the media and the gun-grabbers conceal is that 43 states in the US have adopted "shall carry" laws which have resulted in the lower stats Mauser quotes. The gungrabbers prefer statistics from the 80's prior to the wide-spread adoption of "shall carry" legistlation. But then they would not lie to you would they? Any firearms crime, anywhere in the US is all over the Canadian papers but Canadian firearms crime gets little press. In the past week there have been several shooting down here in sleepy old London. Ever notice that most reported US firearms crime is in the People's Republic of New York and Illinois? Michigan is a "shall carry" state and Detroit shootings are now rare. It was no accident that both Houses of Congress allowed the "anti-assault weapon" legistlation of Bill Clinton to expire. Not only did it serve no purpose but it was morphed into banning the alleged dangerous "semi-auto". Remember this stuff you are quoting comes from the very same elements who claim Polar Bears are disappearing while they point to the thin bears about Churchill Man who have overpopulated and exceeded the food supply.

To help you understand here are some stats I found. These are the Handgun deaths per 100000 for 3 countries: USA 14.5 Canada 4.3 Japan .05 I think this shows that restricting gun ownership has some effect. It is obvious to and idiot that with the unlimited production of firearms in the world and particularly the USA even in countries like Japan people will get hold of guns but by making a serious effort to control them Japan is able to maintain a VERY low number of deaths. OK, so your stats show that the US has 3.37 times as many handgun deaths per 100,000 people as Canada does. That doesn't really mean a whole lot considering that the US has over 9 1/2 times as many people. Sure the numbers are gonna be higher in the US. Nine times as many people and only three times as many handgun deaths per 100,000.............. kind of makes me think that no where in North America is really safe anymore.

Nine times as many people and only three times as many handgun deaths per 100,000.............. kind of makes me think that no where in North America is really safe anymore. Absolutely correct especially if you are visiting the USA. In Canada there are some isolated area in the major centers but I would consider the rest safe. [blue] It's the same in the US, there are just alot more major centers than in Canada.[/blue] Numbers as side the reality is that the USA has an incredibly high number of deaths compared to the countries which have strict gun rules. [blue] Do you put the numbers aside due to the fact that they show Canada is just a dangerous?[/blue] Bottom line is The USA is out of control with: Huge numbers of gun deaths [blue]Let us not forget the fact that those numbers also reflect suicides as well.[/blue] The largest number of prisoners of ANY nation in the world ( not per capita) [blue]Won't argue with you there, my wife is a corrections officer, so I know we have a lot of prisoners. Maybe it's because we have a lot of states that don't believe in capital punishment?[/blue] They cannot educate their minorities [blue]Now-a-days in the US, who is a minority?[/blue] They cannot control their borders [blue]We always hoped we wouldn't have to. But, sad to say, now we must.[/blue] They no longer have enough fuel to supply their requirement [blue]Yes, we do like our cars.[/blue] They import 60% of all of their food [blue]eh.... ok, if you say so.[/blue] They are stuck in the quicksand of Viet Iraq because no one in their country has the brains to figure out how to leave. And finally they have gun laws so weak that a mental patient can buy a gun and slaughter a bunch of kids. And in this case I am not suggesting a lunatic could not get hold of a gun in Canada as we know this has been done but at least we have SOME rules to lessen the chance. Bottom line the country that likes to be known as the"WORLDS ONLY SUPERPOWER" is no longer a place to envy or respect so why would anyone support their idiotic gun laws? [blue]The last few I will not comment on. The reason being is that a true debate cannot be obtained when you have to resort to name calling. It just harbors ill feelings. It is true that our countries have different views on these issues. That's what makes us all who we are. If you'd like to continue this discussion with a civil attitude, I might be convinced to join the forum so that we might continue. Have a very pleasant day. [/blue]

Just a note regarding minorities. The numbers I was referring to are those for Blacks and Hispanics in particular. Having seen many US TV shows on the subject it appears that over 50 of the people in these groups never finish high school. [blue]I'd really like to know what criteria was used to come up with that number. I've known a lot of people in my life and very few of them did not complete high school, and of the few I know that didn't, most of them were white.[/blue] As for the borders you comment on that issue as if it is a lost cause and there is no solution. The reality is that King Bush wants the southern border open so he can further the SPP which is one of the best kept secrets both in the US and Canada and Mexico. I don't think there is any reason why a big fence could not be built. Surely the US is a least as smart as the East Germans were and they did it for hundreds of miles. The whole border area was virtually unmanned and one of the most dangerous areas on earth. Who cares if the Mexicans don't like it ?? [blue]No, I didn't mean it was a lost cause, I meant that it wasn't really necessary in the past. Just so you know, there is now a fence being built. As for President Bush, (once again, you just can't resist the name calling) I cannot comment because SPP is not an acronym that I recognize, so I guess it is a well kept secret, whatever it is. As for the illegal aliens here, I am among the people that believe they should all be sent back across the border by any means necessary, even if that means using one of those big circus cannons to shoot them over the new fence. ;D [/blue] As for the food issue I believe that his is a problem for all of us. The real problem is some of the food now comes from China which has one of the worst records on earth for keeping their food safe for human consumption. The animal feed question is only a VERY small part of the problem.. Personally I think that the US and Canadian markets should be a totally closed market for foreign foods. I have spent a lot of time in the third world and I know for a fact that most countries don't care about their own people let alone exported foods. Even Mexico should be off limits. After all if you go there and get sick as a dog from eating their poop fertilized food how can you possibly trust anything they export. In fact wasn't it Mexican salad products that poisoned a bunch of people a few months back ?? [blue]Naw, unfortunately, it wasn't Mexican salads that were bad, the stuff was grown in California, but it might have been an imported fertilizer that was used, I'm not sure.[/blue]

One of the largest urban myths perpetrated by the gun-grabbers is this myth about the US being the largest producer of firearms. The former Warsaw pact and China are the largest producers of civiliam small arms. Indeed China produces high quality "knock-off of Colts, Smith & Wesson Ruger etc. which only close inspection can identify as not the real McCoy. Remember these are the same people who produce counterfeit Rollex. Generally if two firearms have the same serial #...one or both are Chinese knock-offs. Indeed fully auto AK's are imported clandestinely by the container load. Two summers ago, thieves robbed a London Jewelry store using fully auto AK's and shot up whole neighbourhoods in their attempted getaway. A high speed pursuit on 401, with a perp, firing an AK out of the sun-roof at Police ended when a trucker stopped them using the middle pedal. That didn't make the papers beyond southern Ontario.......

Montezuma's revenge is usually amoebic dysentry. In Mexico contamination usually is contaminated water.....even washing the salad greens in it. Remember the talent pool is largely uneducated and is very cavalier about hygene. The thing most do not realize is that produce from their own garden needs to be washed thoroughly. Topsoil to function MUST contain a battery of microbs, most of which are not helpful in a human digestive system. Clostridia Botulina is always present. That's right you can get botulaism from an unwashed carrot. It's not a matter of being smart. The Russian's had no choice but to build the wall....their talent pool, even their labour pool was being bled white by illegal emmigration. And those border were heavily manned....the Voppo's guarded the East German portion.

You are really obtuse are you not. What can ANYONE POSSIBLY understand other than THAT you are a complete goof producing obviously ficticious stats. Japan has not released any statistics since the early 90's because theY were so bad. Now you come up with these? ? BAKKA..........you do understand a bit of Japanese don't you? THERE ARE NO JAPANESE STATISTICS PERIOD. As a result an opinions or further submissions by you from here on are rreally irrelevant.
