Holy crap I need a drink !!
Yesterday my 90 year Father finally made it into a nursing home very near to where I live. He seems happy and is NOT asking me to go home so I guess he has accepted his surroundings. Hopefully he will be accepted into the Perley Rideau Veterans home which does indeed want to get into.... all private rooms.
Hey you put ice in my rum and coke !!
Anyways all is well at the moment but there sure was a mountain of paperwork.

That's it !!!!! your cut - off ...Glad to hear that your Dad has accepted the fact that He needs extra help . Not only will He get the care needed , but a sense of relief for you knowing that He is looked after daily. I know it was very hard for my Dad and Step-mom to give up their home and move to a Retirement Home , but Home-care and Von can only do so much . It took them awhile to settle in , meet new people , and adjust to the routine .. But they enjoyed 2 1/2 years there . When their health declined , a Nursing Home was the next step . The care they received in this facility is unbelievable . When my Step-mom passed this year, I could not have asked for more compassionate staff . The care they gave my Step-mom in Her last days was remarkable and lovingly extended to my Dad and us .. Dad is doing fine , with his " groupies" who all have lost a spouse . They share tears , laughs , memories and always feel good when they leave their session ... It's a great idea and the group has about 15 people .. .... Anyone who's thinking about a retirement home/nursing home for whatever reason Please do your research, tours and ask alot of questions .There are alot of really good homes out and alot that are not... |

Mt Dad had to go to long term care facility and after a year he passed away there. He was happier there and made some friends and it gave my Sister's and I peace of mind that was looked after. |

ER-WHACK !!!! I'm not dead , as a matter of fact I'll probably out live you . As to why nobody is coming in to chat , I don't know ... maybe the cat has their tongue in which case is a good thing for me ....
I been working extra shifts and hanging at my friends cottage in Bayfield ... Beautiful sunsets while enjoying a beverage at the harbor bar . Just relaxing watching the boats come and go . The village kids have a skate board ramp set-up where they launch their bikes off this ramp , into the air and then some 20 feet down into the water. Then they swim like mad to rescue the bike before it sinks , climb up the pier ladder and do it all again . Their quite entertaining and good for a few laughs . The more you egg them on the better the show. so cheers ....

...ok I'LL TALK TO MYSELF .... at least it's quiet in here . sipping away on a beverage and looking out the bay window . Chilly enough that there is a small fire going and the smells coming from the kitchen must mean roast beef is on the menu tonight. Hmmm wonder if there's apple pie to go with that .
I like this time of year , the colors , fresh air , lack of tourists and traffic ... the wildlife come out of hiding and are enjoyable to watch . The fawns have lost there spots , but are still with mom. They jump around trying to get her to play. The sounds of the migrating birds fill the air and when they rest on the lake for the night , there landing skills are good for a laugh . Fishing is good this time of also , as the big ones come up out of the depths looking for the feeders .
So come in and relax and take the time to observe what's around you .

...Must of been a hell'va party in here and I had to much to drink , I seemed to have had a name change .somebody please fill me in ... Did I do that ? Where was I sic again ! ?  I didn't say that ! Hey I'm allowed----been off the pain killers for 24 hours and things seem cool. I really must commend the dude who thought up percs.(oxycodone)
Percs and alcohol = taking hemlock.......
The guy who said if you are in pain there is no intoxication----never took a coupla percs.
